Why Do We Need Timber Ceiling Battens?

Batten ceilings are a type of ceiling that is made up of timber, which is an affordable and sustainable material. Timber battens are often used in warehouses, workshops and garages as they provide good insulation against the heat and noise.

Battens can be used as both a structural and architectural feature and are sometimes used to cover gaps between ceiling joists and rafters.  Aluminium Battens are available in various lengths and widths, so you can choose one that fits your space perfectly.

Types of Ceiling Batten Materials

There are two main types of timber ceiling battens: Metal and wood. Metal battens are typically made out of aluminum or steel. They are easy to install because they require no drilling. Wood battens are usually made out of pine or fir. Timber battens are more expensive than metal ones, aren’t fire resistant and are heard to source in the lengths you need. They do tend to provide better insulation. 

Aluminium beams have the benefit of durability, lightweight, east to source and install plus they are fire resistant.
